Hi there! Today I want to talk to you about missed customer service opportunities. So get ready, it’s going to be scary! 

Here’s the deal. We have a monthly meeting where we bring in all our clients.

We work with them for a full day. Anyway, we rent space from a local hotel chain. It’s well known. It’s a high-end hotel organization.

They have several in the area. We have invested over $25,000 with them in the last year. 

Due to some things that we’re doing a little bit differently, we had two events booked for November and October to move to a different location.

We called them up, and we said, hey look we’d like to cancel the events.

They said “No issue”. And then a week later we get a bill for $1,000.

Now I want to keep this in perspective. Now this is coming from finance. The finance people are down lower, don’t know what’s going on. They send us a bill. Well, we argue about it a little bit.

They still want to charge us $500 for canceling two events. But we had given them plenty of notice, plenty of time for them to fill the room space.

Interesting customer service issue here. So here’s the deal, we’re probably not going to ever use them.
