Today I’d like to have a chat with you about absolute thinking versus percentage thinking, and why absolute thinking may be holding you back.

So I was just at a conference in Thailand and Brad Sugars was giving a presentation. He said he was talking to one of his buddies who ran nightclubs. And the guy would spend $100,000 to get a crowd of people into his nightclubs.

Well, $100,000 sounds like a lot, unless you’re doing $10 million a night.

This guy happened to be doing a lot, I don’t know if it was $10 million. And what he said to Brad was, “That’s just a percentage.”

So let’s just take a look at it from maybe a more reasonable standpoint.

Suppose I came to you and your business and said, “Hey, what I’d recommend is you spend $60,000 in advertising this year.”

And you say, “Whoa, that sounds like a lot.”

Well, what if the goal, and what if you could do a million dollars on that $60,000? Well, how much is that? Well, that’s 6%.
